Hannah Haehn, co-founder of the home goods boutique The Post Supply, lives with her two children in a house steeped in family history — her late grandparents’ home in Los Angeles. The space tells stories of the past while embracing the present with an inviting, lived-in charm. “Before my dad did some renovations, it had this bumpy tweed wallpaper and brown carpet,” Hannah chuckles. “It was beautiful — but definitely a vibe of its time!”

Here’s a peek inside this lovingly curated family home, where every corner reflects a mix of memory, practicality, and style.

The Living Room: Where Comfort Meets Everyday Life

The heart of the house is an unpretentious living room where coziness is key. Hannah swears by simplicity and function here. “I picked an Ikea sofa with washable covers because I want my kids and guests to feel free to snack, spill, and bundle up without worrying about the mess,” she says. This practical approach makes the space welcoming — the kind of room where you want to curl up and stay awhile.

The vintage rug and family hand-me-down kids’ piano add layers of history, while pieces like the rattan armchair and Wayfair coffee table strike a balance between old and new. Lighting follows Hannah’s “three tiers” philosophy — combining overhead floor lamps, face-level sconces, and lower table lamps or candles — creating a warm, enveloping glow that invites relaxation.

Interestingly, Hannah has given up on TV subscriptions this year. “Flipping between shows didn’t make me feel good,” she explains. Now she rents only what truly interests her, making screen time feel more intentional.

Music is another soothing presence. Since she was 16, Hannah has played guitar and recently enjoys sharing old country songs from Johnny Cash and the Carter Family with her kids. “If it makes you cry, I’m into it!” she laughs.

The Kitchen: A Place Filled With Love and Legacy

In the kitchen, the echoes of Hannah’s grandparents feel strongest. “Growing up, I’d sit at their table eating seeded German bread and sharp cheese, while my grandmother cooked Dampfnudel or Kartoffelsuppe,” she reminisces. Washing dishes in the same spot she once watched her grandmother cook brings a comforting sense of connection.

The kitchen cabinets — freshly painted a bold French blue by her dad — add a vibrant pop of color to the space. This splash of modernity blends seamlessly with the old-world European keepsakes that Hannah’s grandparents left behind, making the home a beautiful collage of time and taste.

When it comes to cooking, Hannah leans into nourishing, straightforward recipes. Jess Damuck’s Health Nut cookbook is a favorite, especially the tahini banana bread. Soup is a staple too — so much so that one year her son gifted her a can of soup for her birthday, knowing it’s her go-to comfort food.

The Dining Room: A Space for Connection and Celebration

The dining room is a testament to family and friendship. The thrifted table and vintage Henry Link credenza mix practicality with nostalgia, while a pendant lamp from Ravenhill Studio adds a modern touch.

Hannah took German classes in college so she could connect with her grandparents in their native tongue — a meaningful gesture to honor her family roots. “I was so glad to have conversations with them in German before they passed,” she reflects.

Her home is famously open: the dining table easily fits ten people, and it’s common for friends and their children to arrive early, already playing and sharing popsicles by the time Hannah and her family get home. “My grandparents were wonderful hosts,” she says. “It feels like they’re blessing the friendships and gatherings happening here.”

The dining room also houses a treasured piece — her grandma’s hutch, filled with her great-grandmother’s china. “It means so much to me,” Hannah shares. These heirlooms anchor the home’s spirit and keep memories alive.

The Bedroom: A Sanctuary of Strength and Heritage

In Hannah’s bedroom, vintage meets meaningful. The bed is an inherited treasure, dressed in Matteo linens that invite rest and comfort. Lamps passed down from her mother add another layer of familial connection.

Above her bed hangs a powerful print by Danny Lyon called Super Woman, depicting the artist’s wife with their baby. “It’s called ‘Super Woman’ not just because of the poster in the photo but because she is a mother,” Hannah explains. “Whenever I walk in this room, I tap into the energy of strong women — it’s a space that inspires me.”

A Home That Breathes History and Welcomes Life

Hannah Haehn’s Los Angeles home is much more than a stylish space. It’s a living archive of her family’s history, blended effortlessly with contemporary touches that make it a warm, functional, and joyful place to live. From practical washable sofas to bold blue cabinets, from heartfelt heirlooms to open-door gatherings — every detail tells a story.

This house is a reminder that our homes aren’t just where we live — they’re where we carry the past with us, celebrate the present, and make room for the future.
